Description

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Discuss the relevance of these verification/evaluation methods in rehabilitation
  • Describe appropriate use of outcome questionnaires
  • Analyse how the testing equipment operates, and identify contraindications for the procedure
  • Safely perform REM and speech tests using the recognised technique based on current professional best practice guidance
  • Compare and contrast test/questionnaire results with normal test values/range of outcomes
  • Evaluate the impact of poor technique and other influencing factors
  • Reflect on the areas of consent, documentation and further ear care management

Prerequisites

1) Delegates must be experienced in Otoscopy and currently performing it in practice. Delegates who do not meet this criteria will be invited to attend the Ear Examination (Otoscopy) course first.

2) Delegates must be working in the field of Audiology as a Registered Audiologist
