This course is aimed at:- Audiology professionals who wish enhance their wax removal tool box! In addition, for those working in a NHS environment who do not have access to other forms of wax removal techniques such as Micro Suction or Irrigation and find wax is de-railing their clients appointment journey.

During this engaging training session, you will:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of ear anatomy, physiology, and common ear conditions, enhancing your ability to provide targeted aural care.
  • Clarify and expand your scope of practice, learning to identify when specialist referrals are necessary.
  • Explore and critically evaluate various equipment and methodologies specific to wax removal, including a detailed look at the principles and contraindications associated with different approaches.
  • Assess the effectiveness of cerumenolytics in conjunction with the Earway Pro tool, enabling you to choose the most effective treatment for each client.
  • Master the safe and effective use of the Earway Pro instrument for wax removal, ensuring you can provide high-quality care based on the latest professional best practices.
  • Engage in reflective practice concerning client consent, documentation, and ongoing ear care management, which are essential for maintaining high standards of professional practice.

Prerequisites

1) Delegates must be experienced in Otoscopy and currently performing it in practice. Delegates who do not meet this criteria will be invited to attend the Ear Examination (Otoscopy) course first.

2) Delegates must be working in the field of Audiology as a Registered Audiologist or under the supervision of a Registered Audiologist, or in a related medical role e.g. ENT or practice nurse.
